We are proud to present [a series of 5 videos](/brody-condon) by artist [Brody Condon](/brody-condon), recorded in 2014. 

The Berlin based artist (b. Mexico 1974) often facilitates and documents game-like group encounters that experientially probe dissociative phenomena. His work is best known for its early influence on re-purposing computer games and LARP techniques ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brody_Condon)).

Condon's work has been widely exhibited internationally, and been acquired by public collections such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Albright-Knox Gallery, and the Kadist Foundation.

The 5 video works are each available in an edition of [3 non-fungible Ethereum tokens](https://left.gallery/work/evp-amie). These tokens are progressively priced: respectively 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 ether, and sold on a [first-come, first-served basis](https://left.gallery/work/possession-janet) (no auction).

Carla Gannis

Medium: Born-digital Image with Audio Dimensions: 12600 x 7400 px -----------About Carla Gannis' Work: GoldenShower3 (2021) is an adaptation of a 4K video work (incorporating a physical representation of the artist herself) and an augmented reality work (using an avatar representation of the artist) from 2016 entitled Golden Shower. In this Web3 version of the work, Gannis presents the video version of corporeal "Carla" next to the "virtual" version of herself in a diptych. Both hold a smartphone in their hands, and on the screen is an image from an ancient Greek vase depicting the myth of Danaë. According to the myth, Zeus came to Danaë in a shower of gold and (it can be presumed) had non-consensual sex with her. There were serious ramifications, as she then gave painful birth to the half human/half god Perseus. In this adaptation of the 2016 work, Bitcoin has been replaced with Ethereum, and “Carla” and “Carla” experience the cognitive dissonance of this “mythic” shower of gold. Who knows how this tale will end? Both panels are presented on a background pattern that is the result of the artist’s training, with an Ethereum image dataset, of an AI GANs algorithm.-----------About The Purchase: The Token ID points to a display copy of the artwork. Year: 2013 Medium: TIFF Dimensions: 12646 x 9426 px -----------About The Installation: In ‘Succulents in Early Spring, Kalanchoe Waldheimii’, Smalley hypermediates a singular moment in time by using digital editing techniques to process, compress, transform, extract, and dilate a digital photograph. The image object that was originally printed at a Walgreens is transformed through Smalley’s practice of Photoshop painting. This painting, an abstraction of the original digital photograph, was printed out, rescanned, and color-corrected a number of times. The resulting artwork, an expanded media artifact whose pixels burst web-browser windows at the seams, makes visible the unique visual logic of contemporary imaging software and the specific affordances of a liminal materiality. This work is meant to be downloaded and inspected closely at fullscreen.

This concept is a mash-up of ideas from Omsk Social Club’s present-day conditioning, the internet-at-large, endless post-political conversations and the words of Timothy Leary, Simone Weil, Alister Crowley, Discordianism and Immanuel Velikovsky. The piece traverses inside an infinite loop of death, reincarnation, hard left and right forks only to begin again in a state of cryptomnesia - the clock that never stops.
