A command that draws a single point on the screen is repeatedly enqueued to be executed at a regular interval of 1/10th of a second. When this command is executed, the current time is used to determine the point’s location on the screen.

Theoretically, the points should form a perfectly aligned grid pattern, since they should be drawn at regular intervals which determine their location, but in reality the draw command is often delayed because of other activity taking place when the command is enqueued for execution.

The slight irregularity of the resulting points highlights a flaw in the common assumption that timekeeping in computer programs is infallible and that the execution of code is instantaneous.

A grid of clocks advance at slightly different rates, ranging from slightly less than one tick per second to slightly more. only one clock advances at one tick per second and shows the current time. Like a watch with a low battery, eventually the effect of the clocks’ varying rates are compounded, yielding increasingly deviating display times.

The Berlin based artist (b. Mexico 1974) often facilitates and documents game-like group encounters that experientially probe dissociative phenomena. His work is best known for its early influence on re-purposing computer games and LARP techniques ([Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brody_Condon)).

Condon's work has been widely exhibited internationally, and been acquired by public collections such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Albright-Knox Gallery, and the Kadist Foundation.

The 5 video works are each available in an edition of [3 non-fungible Ethereum tokens](https://left.gallery/work/evp-amie).
