by Micah Hesse, 2016

On sunny days, the bright spotlight of the sun is reflected in the reflective glass exterior of buildings, which creates reflected patterns on streets below. Since the streets are already saturated with the primary rays of the sun, these reflected images remain concealed under the cover of light. Drowned and outshone by direct sunlight, they only come out of the shadows when in the shade of the sun. Any street bathed in direct sunlight could therefore be accommodating subliminal drawings produced by reflected sunlight. The shade of an umbrella on a sunny day, for example, is a good tool for discovering these reflection illustrations. Illuminatic observes and uncovers these caustic reflections, or sun drawings, on the summer streets of New York.
